Page 2 of 15 I then used a 1/16” drill bit to create a hole in the head. The idea is to drill deep enough where you can use an Awl to break off the head or use a screw extractor tool to back the whole screw out. Sometimes the screw will just fall apart.   The next step is to use a small 1/16" drill bit to sink holes around the screw shaft. I used such a small bit on the large drill that the bit broke. Next time I will use the small bits on my Dremel drill.
