Page 15 of 15 The last step of the process is to come back the next day and chisel off the top part of the bung leaving about 1/8” showing. I then take a hard block and sandpaper and sand smooth with the deck. Over time the bung will weather and turn the same color as the wood. 
As you can see this is not as nice as the fixing the smaller original hole to begin with. Lots of trial and error. BH
