I then used an Unscrew-UMS $11 US screw extractor that I picked up from Tool Depot that allows me to cut around the shaft of the screw thru the wood and down into the fiberglass. Note: I have a new tool that is called a screw extractor and it cuts a 3/8" hole all the way down. Perfect size for new teak deck bungs. Works much better but at a cost of $14 US each. I will have a new picture soon.

From time to time screw pieces would break off and need to be removed from the extractor. I would also use the Awl to poke around and see if I had reched the bottom by pushing the screw shaft.
