How to Repair Teak Deck Screws - Page 5

I then tapped in 2 3/8” teak wood bungs. Next time I will pick up a 2” piece of ¼” wood dowel to make the tapping job easier.

 

 

I re-drilled a new hole with a tapered countersunk bit and prepared for a new screw.

 

I placed a small amount of 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive Sealant on a new Stainless #10 1 1/4" phillips head tapping screw threads and screwed it into the new hole.
